Beliefs

St. Andrew’s is a community of faith, inviting all to a real life in Jesus.

We seek to be a welcoming and compassionate community where people can belong, grow, and discover God’s grace together. Wherever you are on your journey of faith — full of questions, deep conviction, or quiet curiosity — you are welcome here. We believe that faith is not meant to be lived alone but shared, nurtured, and embodied in community as we walk the way of Jesus side by side.

We are a congregation within the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, seeking to follow Jesus Christ together through worship, learning, prayer, and service. At the heart of our life is the conviction that God is gracious and faithful. The story of Scripture tells of a God who creates the world in love, calls a people into covenant, and comes to us most fully in Jesus Christ to reconcile and renew all things.

We trust that in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God has acted to restore our broken relationships — with Him, with one another, and with his creation. Salvation is not something we achieve, but a gift of grace, received with gratitude and lived out in faith, hope, and love within the life of the community.

The Holy Spirit continues to shape us into a people marked by Christ’s compassion, justice, and mercy, calling us to participate in God’s healing work in the world.

Scripture is the foundational witness to God’s saving work and the primary guide for our faith and life. We read the Bible prayerfully and thoughtfully, listening carefully to the world of the text — its history, language, and context — so that we may hear God’s living word for our lives today. Our preaching seeks to bridge the ancient story and our present world, helping us grow as disciples and discern how to live faithfully in our time.

As part of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, we stand within a historic stream of Christian faith expressed in the creeds and confessions of the church, which help us articulate what we believe and guide how we live together as followers of Jesus.

What We Share

We share the good news of God’s love made known in Jesus Christ — a love that welcomes, forgives, and transforms.

We believe that God meets people with grace, not because we deserve it, but because love is God’s very nature. Through Christ, God invites all people into a restored relationship and into a life marked by hope, reconciliation, and renewed purpose.

We seek to embody this good news in our life together — through worship that centers us on God, through hospitality that reflects Christ’s welcome, and through service that expresses God’s care for the world. As a community, we encourage one another, carry one another’s burdens, and celebrate God’s presence among us.

Our hope is that all people may discover the depth of God’s grace and the joy of walking the way of Jesus within a community of faith, both now and in the life to come.

Our Mission

Our mission — “inviting all to a real life in Jesus” — is not simply a slogan but a calling that shapes our life together. We seek to embody Christ’s love through genuine welcome, to walk alongside one another in faith, and to trust that God is gently drawing all people into the fullness of life found in Him.
