Lead Pastor

 

Rev. Daniel Martinez has served as Lead Pastor at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church since 2022. Together with his wife, Pamela, he is passionate about helping people grow in their faith through biblical teaching, discipleship, and community.

Daniel and Pamela arrived in Canada in 2008 after getting married and graduating with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theology from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Santiago, Chile. They first settled in Montreal, where Daniel served with the Hispanic Church of God in Quebec as a teaching and youth pastor.

In 2014, Daniel joined SASS Presbyterian Church in North Vancouver as Associate Pastor, where he ministered to youth and college students for eight years. During his time there, he established a youth worship team, led adult Bible studies, and became actively involved with Camp Douglas of the Presbytery of Westminster. From 2018 to 2022, he served as Camp Director, where many still know him by his camp nickname, "Chico."

Daniel's academic journey has taken him through several institutions. He studied Ancient Greek Language and Culture at the Universidad de Chile before continuing his theological education in Canada. He earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, concentrating in New Testament, from Regent College in Vancouver in 2014. He later completed a Master of Divinity through the Vancouver School of Theology and St. Andrew's Hall in preparation for ordination in The Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Daniel has a deep love for Scripture, New Testament Greek, church history, preaching, and teaching God's Word. Outside of ministry, he enjoys Star Wars, Marvel movies, and what he happily calls the greatest sport ever—tennis.

Daniel and Pamela are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Noelia and Felipe.
